Annual Meeting

We have a new President!
On Wednesday 10th April 2013 Jean Wilkinson was elected as President.
Vice-Presidents are Heather and Angela.  Heather is Secretary with Amber as her assistant. Angela is Treasurer.

Drive-It Day

It was an early start for a group of Kelvedon WI members on Sunday 28th April 2013.

The car showroom at Deal of Kelvedon became a tempory refreshment stall.  Tea, coffee and muffins were on sale to drivers and passengers from a host of classic cars assembling for their Drive-It Day.

Participants waiting to sign in were greeted with a lovely aroma and many bacon rolls were consumed.

The weather was glorious and after a busy morning serving hungry and thirsty customers a few WI members just had time to watch as the beautifully kept cars left Kelvedon on their way to Castle Hedingham for the next stop on their event.

Walking Group

In July our Walking Group, consisting of members, friends and family, came across a flock of very friendly sheep near Goldhanger.

The next monthly walk is on Friday 13th September 2013 but, don't let that put you off!
It will be a London Walk, exploring the hidden gardens of the city.

Kelvedon Expo 2013

A trio of Committee Members promoted Kelvedon Women's Institute on Saturday 7th September at the Kelvedon Village Expo, organised by the local United Reformed Church.  It was an opportunity for everyone to find out more about the clubs and associations that are on offer in Kelvedon and Feering.

The afternoon was very enjoyable and hopefully everyone went away inspired to take up a new hobby or interest and to make new friends.

Walking in the Rain

In September, regardless of inclement weather, our Walking Group enjoyed a two hour guided stroll around the hidden gardens of the city of London.

Kelvedon Christmas Tree Festival 2013

Members took part in the 5th Christmas Tree Festival organised by St. Mary's Church in Kelvedon.

The festival marked the start of Advent and the Christmas season with thirty seven organisations and groups taking part.  This year's proceeds support the Little Haven Children's Hospice and the local Food Bank.

It was fun making and baking the 'Christmas Cookies' and then using them to decorate our tree.

We wish everyone best wishes for a peaceful Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year.
