Membership
We have 50 members and meet on the second Wednesday of every month at the Institute, 78 High Street, Kelvedon CO5 9AA at 8.00pm. Car parking is available free at the village car park next to the Conservative club.
The first WI met in 1915 with the aim of revitalising rural communities and encouraging women to become more involved with the production of food during the Great War. The National Federation of WI's is the largest women’s organisation in the United Kingdom with approximately 205,000 members in 6,500 WIs.
The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to learn new skills. Members are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.
So, become a member of Kelvedon WI and you can have a powerful voice on local, national and international issues.
